A-1 Construction is a locally owned construction company specializing in the installation of composition shingles for homes, manufactured homes and commercial buildings. We strive to serve the community with good quality materials and workmanship.

The majority of our residential roofing customers are in Yakima, Selah, Terrace Heights, Naches, Moxee, Zillah, Granger, White Swan, Harrah, Brownstown, and other cities in the Lower Yakima Valley, as well as Ellensburg and Kittitas County communities.

Employees

Most roofing employees are paid piece work (paid by how much they get done) To ensure the quality you deserve, our employees are paid hourly. This enables us to have highly skilled employees with high retention rates. They are allowed to take the time to insure a quality job.

Our company has passed the qualifications as a GAF Certified Contractor for GAF Corporation. We have met their rigorous standards of professionalism. To meet this qualification, we had to prove a high degree of knowledge in industry standard practices and continuously demonstrate a high level of customer service by maintaining a high degree of homeowner satisfaction

We have also passed a lengthy examination process based upon Asphalt Roofing Manufactures Association and GAF specifications, as well as application techniques. As a GAF Certified Contractor we are required to maintain a clean work history as determined by the Better Business Bureau, State Licensing Board of the Department of Labor and Industries and the State Attorney General’s office.

Insurance Claims

A major service that A-1 Construction provides is the repair of wind damage done to roofs. In Yakima we have strong winds in the spring and fall of the year. Wind damage to your roof is usually covered by your homeowners insurance. We can provide valuable assistance to the homeowner because of the years of experience we have had in dealing with insurance companies and working as a go between the homeowner and the insurance company to see that your home is properly repaired. At A-1 Construction we use the same estimating program that the majoring insurance companies utilize. This works well because it keeps us from charging too much and keeps them from paying too little.

Homeowners should be sure that their roofing contractor holds certificates of insurance before allowing the contractor to begin work on your property. Certificates should be for both liability and worker’s compensation insurance. Unfortunately accidents, damage, and injuries occur, but if your contractor is properly insured you will be less likely to be the unwitting target of third-party claims or lawsuits.

A-1 Construction is very Safety Oriented; we provide as safe an environment as is possible for our employees. A-1 Construction as roofing professionals adhere to a Safety & Health Policy that is patterned after the one established by the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries. We provide all the safety equipment needed by our employees. We have a very good safety record and pay a lower Industrial insurance premium because of our great interest in safety.

Doing business with a contractor who has a good reputation for doing the job right in an ethical manner at a reasonable cost is the ideal situation for the home owner. These are both good sources for general information, but nothing takes the place of knowing the facts about a contractor’s reputation. Name recognition and high visibility do not necessarily equate to good business practices any more than contracting with a complete unknown. The best way of obtaining the knowledge you need to make the proper decision is by word of mouth or referral. 1. A-1 Construction will repair any roof failure causing actual and resulting damages as a result of defective installation at no cost to you.
2. A-1 Construction will repair home damage caused by defective roof installation at no cost, with a $2000.00 limit.
3. A-1 Construction will provide one follow-up roof inspection, 12 months after installation, to ensure proper performance and provide maintenance and cleaning recommendations.
